recycle at home
Emily L asked:

A week or two ago I was watching a morning show with a guy and a girl (not the Regis show) but they talked about a site that people can recycle their stuff by posting it. (It sounded like a Craig’s list type of thing) A woman talked about how she furnished her apartment for cheap. It was like ecycle.com or something like that.

Anybody know what I’m talking about? The show or the site?

carbon neutral
VarmintHunter07 asked:

One of the gases released from flatulence is carbon dioxide. I enjoy eating bean burritos which among other foods is known for causing wind. I feel terribly guilty every time let one rip, that I might be melting a glacier or causing the death of a polar bear. Without giving up these foods, what measures can be taken to offset these carbon emissions so that I can stay fart-carbon neutral?

household recycling
Jessica S asked:

I’d rather recycle it than throw it out. I live in southern NH. Does anyone know where to recycle household blenders or other kitchen appliances?
This blender is not working anymore, therefore I do not think I should try to sell it or give it away.

household recycling
impresivus asked:

sorting after collection: faster, mostly with machines, more precise (by the types of metal etc), lots more get recycled, rubbish of every household gets recycled
sorting before collection: takes 15 mins per week - would be better if everybody works that 15 mins in his/her profession (makes more even for tax), kitchen is not full of eyesoring dirty bins, garden door doesnt need to be opened to many times so heating bill is lower (fosil fuel), less fosil fuel gets consumed because fewer vehicles come to collect. what do you think?
MORE: they are strugling to acheive recycling rates of 20%, even with recycling garden waste (fiddle!). sorting affter collecting would increase recycling to over 90%. we can t bully ppl into recycling the same as we do not bully them into cleaning street in the front of their house.

aingel93 asked:

For my school science project I have to calculate the carbon footprint of students in my school. I have looked up the internet but all I can find are either really detailed ones asking for the amount of fuel you use each year or really kiddy ones. Is there any way of calculating a persons estimated carbon footprint without having to use the computer and just getting them to fill out a simple questionairre?
Thanks so much!

In class we watched the National Geographic film, “The Human Footprint” and the amazing show really got me curious! [If you haven't seen it, I recommend watching it!] What are ways I, as a teenager, can reduce my carbon footprint? What are things I can do to reduce, reuse, and recycle? Thanks in advance!

fariya03 asked:

Specifically, is the production, manufacture and transportation process for corn starch utensils actually better for the environment than traditional plastic production? What is the comparison of the carbon footprints of the entire process? If corn starch utensils are biodegradable but they use more carbon to produce, is that really a better choice?
