Will Smith’s rap-songwriter asked:

Is it just:

C(s) + 02(g) —> CO2(g)

Is it just solid carbon burning in air?

Is CO2 an acidic/basic/neutral oxide? Why?

Is it that all metals form basic oxides and that all non-metals form acidic oxides? BUT hydrogen oxide (water) is a neutral oxide… AAAH!

N C asked:

I have a sneaking suspicion that cremation is not the most “green” way to go. An average cremation takes about 2 hours at 1,800 degrees farenheit. This is for an average body of 150 pounds using natural gas in a newly-manufactured retort. How much carbon dioxide/greenhouse gas is released into the atmosphere?
